The IEEE Conference on Commerce and Enterprise Computing (CEC)




The IEEE Conference on Commerce and Enterprise Computing (CEC) is the premier forum for researchers and practitioners.
CEC2011 will be held from the 5th to 7th of September 2011.

The aim of the forum is to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, results, experiences and concerns in the field of E-Commerce technologies and Enterprise Computing.

CEC is the annual conference of the IEEE Computer Society Technical Committee on E-Commerce.

The program of CEC’11 will consist of invited talks, technical paper presentations, tutorials, Industry sessions, workshops, and panel discussions. There will be two keynote speakers :



Duane Nickull is a Senior Technical Evangelist for Adobe Systems. He is responsible for Adobe’s messaging around enterprise architecture in the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Web Services spaces plus Web 2.0. Duane is also the host of the popular internet TV series Duane’s World (http://tv.adobe.com). Previously Mr. Nickull co-founded Yellow Dragon Software Corporation, a privately held developer of XML messaging and metadata management software, acquired by Adobe in 2003. He previously served as CTO and President of XML Global Technologies, a publicly traded software company acquired by Xenos Group in early 2003 where he architected several key technologies including XTRACT, an intelligence gathering and Bayesian theorem inference engine to flag persons
of interest to law enforcement officials and recover stolen property.

Mr. Nickull has written and contributed many technical articles and books on these subjects Mr. Nickull has been called Mr. SOA by his peers during introductions to speak on the subject due to his overwhelming experience writing and contributing to the major Service Oriented Architectures (SOA’s). Between 1995 and 2010, he spoke at over 1,300 venues in over 34 countries around the world. He has received numerous awards in the field of technology including prestigious awards from India, the United States and Canada. Duane has recently renewed his work in the theoretical field of computational intelligence and has recently spoken several times to various audiences via the Ontolog Forum on eventcausality aware inference engines coupled to a query-able ontology. He is named on pending patents pertaining to XML indexing and retrieval covering 51 unique points. He has filed 3 patents for Adobe Systems in 2008-2009.

Dr Yves Pigneur is professor of Information Systems of the University of Lausanne, Switzerland. He has a doctoral degree of the University of Namur in Belgium in information systems and his research was about computer-aided requirement engineering. He has has been a Professor of Management Information Systems at the University of Lausanne since 1984 and has held visiting professorships at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and University of Bristish Columbia in Vancouver.

He has served as the principal investigator for many research projects involving information system design, requirements engineering, information technology management, innovation, and e-business. Dr. Pigneur is the Swiss representative of IFIP TC 8 as well as being chairperson and program chair of several conferences (IFIP, ISDSS, AIM). He is editor-in-chief of the academic journal Systèmes d’information & management (SIM).

Dr. Pigneur has had his research published in over fifty books, refereed journals and conference proceedings, including JMIS, Comm. AIS, Electronic Markets (EM), Electronic Commerce Research and Applications (ECRA), Information Systems and e-Business Management (ISeB), Int. J. Learning and Intellectual Capital. Alex Osterwalder and Yves Pigneur authored the bestseller "Business Model Generation" (Wiley).
